Graphic Communications (Print Technology)

The Graphic Communications program teaches the skills required to prepare students for employment in the #1 manufacturing industry in the nation – the printing industry. Students gain knowledge and hands-on skills through instruction in layout & design, digital printing, press operations, finishing & binding, screen printing, pad printing and signage, along with management, customer service and marketing. In addition to projects, the students hone their skills and gain industry experience to produce printed t-shirts, banners, novelty products (such as pens), brochures, posters, notebooks, etc. for the school and other non-profit organizations. A high level of math, measuring, language arts and communication skills are required. The graphics program is PrintED accredited and the students can earn industry certifications in six areas. There is also an articulation agreement with NCC for 4 credits in computer graphics.
